This is how could be the new tube train design for London, a future design, more spaces, 20% brighter and … driverless.
It’s designed by Siemens and costs £1m per carriage.
This full-size model of the futuristic train known as Inspiro is set to go on show at an exhibition in London shortly demonstrating a new era for public transport.
The news comes at a time when the Government has just awarded funding to Transport for London to improve the tube service across the capital.
Costing up to £1m per carriage, the new creation, designed by electronic engineering company Siemens, has one main focus – efficiency.
Its carriages are designed to hold more people than today’s modern metro trains and is said to be 30% more energy efficient than our current models.
With commuters dreading the thought of a busy rush hour train journey, Inspiro even offers full air conditioning across all of its spacious carriages.
