TFL has done a nifty little deal with ITV that will allow scores to be pushed to the London Underground information screens on platforms across the capital. Now, along with news of how many of the fictional “underground minutes” remain until your train arrives, you’ll also be able to see how well England are doing.
Somehow TFL has managed to get some money off ITV to do this too, and it will generate extra revenue to the value of £160,000 which forms part of TFL’s goal of bringing in some £3.4bn of non-fare revenue by 2020. Lofty goals, but all of this helps to pay for the London transport network which is, let’s be honest, quite expensive to run. The good news for advertisers though is that passengers are a captive audience.
The service starts this Friday and will continue until England walks away with the trophy at the end of October.
